My grandfather, TD Keenan was one of the founders of
SE-VA-KEEN. We moved to the lake on the first day of summer & cried when we had to move back to town around Labor Day. It was a magical place for about 75-100 of us kids who had the best childhood growing up there in the late 50's & early 60's. Filled with swimming, fishing, tennis, dances, festival's, baseball, basketball, and a WHOLE LOT of mischievousness!
Sevakeen is beautiful! Large swimming lake with a mini beach, slides, diving boards and tarzan swing. Creeks nearby, fishing lake, playground, basketball courts, clubhouse, etc.
Great place to become a member and enjoy all the lifestyle of days gone by. Excellent place for kids to run and have fun.
We celebrated the 4th of July with my son who owns a cottage at Sevakeen. I'm a grandmother of five and I can tell you I can't remember a more perfect time! There were activities planned all day -- my favorite, sand castles! The grounds were pristine. People waved or spoke, kids just being happy, active children. I want to live here!!
